I have been out of the loop with football too much time. I loved it as being a kid, growing up. Being from Texas, it was always the Cowboys. In those days, the heroes were Roger Staubach and Tom Landry. Later, after going to California, I found myself occasionally rooting for John Brodie of the 49ers, but it surely was always Cowboys when the two came head-to-head. Currently, I’m retired. The demands of deadlines, personal projects and endless errands have diminished. And I wax nostalgically for the gridiron and also the exhilaration of the contest. Yes, I will be watching a lot more football. You may bet on it.
